Srinagar: Forces on Monday late evening launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Talangam village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Sources said on a tip-off about the presence of militants, 55 Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a joint search operation.
Local sources said that a large number of forces has been deployed in the area and door to door search operation was going on when the last reports came in.
Meanwhile, Pulwama observes shutdown on the death anniversary of local militant Omais resident of Chatapora village of Pulwama who was killed during a gunfight at Ajas area of Bandipora in 2015.
Reports said that few gunshots were also heard from Chatapora in late evening they told it was a gun salute to slain Militant Omais.
