SRINAGAR: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday conducted searches at seven locations in connection with an ongoing probe into the alleged accumulation of disproportionate assets by 2010-batch IAS officer Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, sources said.
Sources said that sleuths of the premier central agency carried out searches in Jammu, Srinagar, Gurgaon, Varanasi, and Patna as part of the investigation into the DA case against the bureaucrat.
The CBI officials also searched Ranjan’s office chamber at the Civil Secretariat, sources added. The searches were conducted following the registration of an FIR against the officer.
It is noteworthy that the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) had earlier granted prosecution sanction to the CBI against Ranjan in connection with the infamous Jammu and Kashmir arms licence scam. (KNO)
