A BSF personnel was injured as the ceasefire was violated again along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

As per a BSF official, “Constable Mohmmad Abu Siddiqi was injured when Pakistan troops opened firing from Heavy Machine Guns (HMGs) and Rocket Projectile Grenades (RPGs) on Indian forward posts along LoC in Mendhar sub-sector of Poonch district 2330 hours.”

Official further said that the injured was later hospitalized, adding that splinters in his body have been removed and he is now out of danger.

On September 15, ceasefire was violated twice in the night in Mandi and Garhi sectors of Poonch, with firing exchanges continuing next morning, and the exchange of fire was also at the forward posts along the LoC in Mendhar sub-sector of Poonch from 0625 hours to 1000 hours on the same day.

Pertinently there have been over 90 ceasefire violations by the two armies standing on the LoC since January 1.
