SRINAGAR: The Revenue Department Budgam, in coordination with other departmental teams, carried out a major anti-encroachment drive at Estate Bemina (Kacharie land) on Thursday, retrieving around three kanals of land from illegal occupation.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Tehsildar Budgam, Imtiyaz Ahmad, in collaboration with the Ward Officer of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC). Officials said the joint team ensured smooth execution of the drive with the support of field staff and machinery.
During the operation, the encroached portion of land was cleared and restored to its original status.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to protecting public land, stating that strict action against encroachments will continue. They added that similar drives will be intensified across the district to curb illegal occupation and ensure proper utilisation of government land.
The public has been urged to refrain from encroachment and extend cooperation to the administration in safeguarding land resources.
