SRINAGAR: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday virtually dedicated 50 infrastructure projects of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to the nation, valued at Rs 1,879 crore.
Of these, six projects—one road and five bridges—are located in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, reads a DIPR statement.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rajnath Singh for including JK in the latest strategic infrastructure development.
The Lieutenant Governor said the projects are significant for both the people and the security forces, providing essential road and bridge connectivity in the region. He said that these assets would help improve movement and strengthen operational logistics for the armed forces, while also supporting socio-economic development in remote districts.
