SRINAGAR: Centre government has dispatched 50 vials of antifungal drug, Amphotericin-B, to Jammu and Kashmir. These vials were part 19,420 vials sent to states and UTs.

“Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers DV Sadananda Gowda announced that the additional 19,420 vials of Amphotericin- B have been allocated to all States/UTs and Central Institutions on 24th May, 2021,” reads an official communiqué, according to local news gatherer KNB. Earlier 23680 vials of Amphotericin- B were allocated to states on May 21.

Jammu and Kashmir has lost one infected person to the fungal disease and one suspected case is being treated. The disease is already a declared epidemic in Jammu and Kashmir.
