In a written reply to an unstarred question by Rajya Sabha MP Sat Paul Sharma, Minister of State for Jal Shakti Raj Bhushan Choudhary said the projects were taken up under two components of PMKSY — the Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme (AIBP) and the Surface Minor Irrigation (SMI) scheme.

The minister said three irrigation projects under the AIBP component and 142 projects under the SMI component have been completed in Jammu and Kashmir.

Replying to queries on the status of the projects, the number of incomplete works and measures being taken to expedite them, the minister said there are no incomplete projects under the PMKSY-AIBP and PMKSY-SMI components in the Union Territory. He added that, as no project under these components is presently under implementation, the question of steps to expedite their completion does not arise.
