Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said that steps have been taken by the Government of India (GoI) for the empowerment of Kashmiri Pandits by increasing cash assistance to them.

“We have empowered governance in Ladakh and steps have been taken for the empowerment of Kashmiri Pandits by increasing cash assistance for them,” News18 quoted Amit Shah as saying in Lok Sabha Speech.

Earlier, he said he sought an extension of Presidential rule in Jammu and Kashmir for a period of six months. “Since the state assembly has been dissolved and the Election Commission has decided to hold fresh elections in Jammu and Kashmir later this year, it is essential that the President’s Rule be extended for another six months with effect from July 3, 2019, Media reports quoted HM Shah as saying.
