SRINAGAR: CERN (Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire) is a doctoral student programme for students who intend to pursue their doctoral degrees in Switzerland.  The deadline for the programme is July 31, 2023.

Selected candidates will get a monthly stipend of 3818 Swiss francs (2,99,997 INR), financial support, and several benefits for candidates, including international travel expenses to Switzerland, medical insurance, etc.

If you have a specialism in Applied Physics, Engineering and Computing, then you can work on your thesis while spending up to 36 months at the forefront of science. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to work in fields of applied physics, IT, mathematics, electricity, electronics, mechanical or civil engineering, instrumentation for accelerators and particle physics experiments, materials science, radiation protection, safety and environmental protection, science communication, surveying, ultra-high vacuum, etc.

Students having good meritorious records with a proficiency certificate in English can apply for the given programme. The required documents for the scholarship programme include a valid passport, Curriculum vitae (CV)/Resume, Academic transcripts, Statement of purpose, Experience letter, English language certificate, Reference letters from an accredited Professor, and Reference letter from any previous internship. Your work envisaged at CERN is all or part of the thesis work required to obtain your PhD. The award of the degree remains the responsibility of your university. Academic arrangements will be discussed between your university thesis supervisor and your CERN supervisor.
