The encounter in Durbugh village of Chadoora in Budgam district that raged in the wee hours on Monday has ended after ten hours, with one militant dead and a soldier injured, army officials said.
The encounter started at around 6 am in the morning and ended after the house militants were hiding in was razed to the ground.
“We have recovered the body of one militant along with a weapon,” said army spokesman Rajesh Kalia.
He said that the soldier sustained injuries when he attempted to enter the house in which militant was hiding.
There are reports that two to three militants were hiding in the house.
“However one or two militants managed to escape,” sources said but the army denied the reports.
