TANGMARG

It is Kashmir and construction work mostly gets delayed. Same is the case with North Kashmir’s Chanapora area.

A bridge being constructed by Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation Limited to connect around half a dozen villages with Tangmarg town awaits completion for last seven years.

The bridge crosses Nallah Kunzer and the non-completion of the bridge gives tough time to villagers especially elderly and those sick.

“This bridge connects villages like Bongam, Devipora, Dardepora, Pariswani, Wangam and Genbabun with rest of the town but because of the delay in its completion, we are facing intense hardships in the area,” said Sarpanch Ghulam Geelani Reshi of the area.

“The authorities come and survey the bridge site but are not taking step to complete the construction of it,” locals of the area told Kashmir Life, adding, “the road is totally in tatty condition, making difficult for pedestrians to walk and no vehicles ply on road because of two way dilemma that is road and bridge which creates lot of problems.”
