(Confederation of Indian Industry)CII J&K State Council held its Annual session in Jammu and elected Chander Prakash Gupta, Chairman of CII J&K State Council for the coming year.
Chander Prakash Gupta born in 1954, a professional civil Engineer graduated in the year 1977 from, MACT Bhopal (NIT). He migrated to Jammu city from village Khour (teh. Akhnoor) in 1965, during Indo-PaK War. He completed his basic schooling from middle school Khour, DBN school and science college Jammu and also served in the state government.
Gupta also worked in Abu Dhabi in eighty’s & the J&K state Public Works Department for 20 years he took voluntary retirement from his services. This is when he decided to get into his own business and started two companies namely J&K Heritage Resorts Pvt Ltd (Hotel Fortune INN Riviera) and TBA infrastructure Pvt. Ltd, a premier road and bridges construction company.
According to a statement skilling of the youth in J&K with the changing needs of the industry is the need of the hour and we feel that CII can contribute – through our skilling initiatives and youth-related programs, added Gupta.
Sheikh Imran, Director on various companies, including Kashmir Sunsilk Industries Private Limited, Kehwah Xpress Services Private Limited,Kehwah Wheels Private Limited, Kehwah Square Private Limited and Director, Kehwah Broadcasting Network Private Limited was elected Vice Chairman CII J&K State Council for the year 2015-16.
He has done his schooling from Good Sheppard International School, Ooty and did his further studies from the American University of Asia in Sharjah (UAE). He has done advance studies from Hudson Valley Community College – State University of New York in Albany, New York.
Imran has successfully taken forward CII Agenda of “Reviving Growth” in the year 2013-14 & 2014-15 when he was Chairman, CII Kashmir Zone and is committed to take forward the Agenda for the year 2015-16.
“J&K has a strong SME base. We would like to focus on reviving the economic infrastructure and giving thrust to employment generation activities in the state Said,” Imran in a statement.
