Budgam police cracked the blind murder case of a youth who was found dead in a Chadoora few days back. The accused, a close friend of the victim has been arrested and the weapon of offense along with the cash and mobile phone of the victim was recovered from his home, police said on Friday.
Giving details of the case SP Budgam, Mohammad Irshad stated that on March 17, 2014, Police Chadoora received information that an unidentified body of a male with multiple wounds is lying at Dharmwari Chadoora. Police registered a case FIR number 34/14 under section 302/RPC and the investigation was taken up.
The body was later identified to be of Mudasir Ahmad Rather son of Fateh Mohammad Rather resident of Hardu Dalwan.
Police after completing the post mortem and other medico legal formalities, handed over the body to his legal heirs.
During the investigation, police after developing some human and technical inputs zeroed in on one Mohammad Yaseen Yatoo son of Abdul Jabbar Yatoo resident of Yatoo Mohalla Chadoora who happened to be a close friend of deceased and it was established that he was the last one to be seen in the company of the victim.
During his sustained questioning, he revealed that on the day of the incident the deceased was carrying an amount of rupees 25000 and the accused developed intentions to grab the money. He lured the victim to a secluded place and killed him with a knife. The accused also stole the mobile phone of the deceased besides the cash amount of Rs 25000.
Later on the accused secretly concealed the mobile phone, cash amount of rupees 25000 and the weapon of offence at his home.
The accused was taken into the custody by the police. Police recovered the weapon of offence along with mobile phone and cash amount of rupees 25000 on his instance.
