Internet services were snapped in Budgam on Monday following a gunfight between militants and government forces in Hapatnar area of Charar-e-Sharif in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

An official said that telecom operators have been asked to suspend the mobile internet services “as a precautionary measure”.

Earlier, the gunfight started after the government launched a cordon and search operation in Hapatnar village of Charar-e-Sharif after receiving specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants.
