SRINAGAR: The Delhi Police Special Cell has filed a chargesheet against Javed Ahmed Mattu, a Hizbul operative among the top ten militants by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Mattu was apprehended by the Delhi Police on January 4, 2024.

He has been sought by security agencies for the past 13 years, with a 10 lakh reward on his head. According to ANI reports, Mattu was allegedly in the Delhi NCR region to collect arms and ammunition.

The Cell has filed the chargesheet before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Nabeela Wali of Patiala House Court on March 3, 2024.

The court has fixed March 15 for cognizance on the charge sheet.

Delhi police recovered one 9 mm Star pistol with six live cartridges, one extra magazine, and one stolen Santro car from him.

A case has been registered in this regard at the PS Special Cell.
