Chatroo Case: LoP Sunil Sharma Meets Victim’s Family, Backs Demand for Justice

   

SRINAGAR: Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Sunil Sharma on Saturday visited Gurninal in Chatroo and met the bereaved family of the victim, assuring them of support and saying the case would be pursued through all lawful channels.

Sharma expressed condolences to the victim’s parents and shared their grief over the loss. He said the family was not alone in its demand for justice and assured them that he would continue to take up their concerns with the authorities.

Accompanied by BJP leaders and workers, Sharma said the case had been handed over to the Crime Branch for investigation in accordance with the family’s demand.

He also said he was in touch with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha over the matter and would continue to follow the progress of the investigation.

Sharma urged the investigating authorities to ensure a fair, impartial and transparent probe, while taking into account the concerns raised by the victim’s family.

He said he would raise the matter at appropriate forums and pursue it through lawful means, stressing that justice for the victim and dignity of the bereaved family should remain the priority.

“The family’s pain is our collective concern. We stand firmly with them and will pursue the matter through every appropriate and lawful forum,” Sharma said, adding that efforts would be made to ensure justice for the victim and the family.

He also prayed for peace for the deceased and strength for the bereaved family.
