Complete strike was observed by Muslim community in Baderwah township of Doda district on Friday. Tension gripped Baderwah town last evening after Dussehra celebrations when some people found paper pieces on which holy verses were written scattered on the ground where crackers were burnt.
In this connection, Anjuman Islamia Baderwah called for bandh which was supported almost all the religious organisations in Chenab Valley today. All the shops and private establishments remained closed today as a mark of protest. This afternoon an emergency meeting was held by the administration with the members of Anjuman Islamia Baderwah.
Heavy deployment was engaged in and around Baderwah Township to avoid any untoward incident.
Reports from Kishtwar said that huge protest demonstration was held in the area soon after Friday prayers and thousands of people protested against this barbaric incident and raised slogans against the communal and divisive forces.
Similar type of protests were held in Bhalessa, Thathri and Doda after Friday Namaz. A large number of people held protests over the incident and shouted anti-administration, anti-RSS and anti-Shiv Sena slogans.
Spokesperson of Anjuman Islamia Doda, Advocate Hassan Babar told media persons that they are demanding registration of FIR, immediate arrest of factory owner and shutting down of the factory.
