In the 44th meeting of Apex Projects Clearance Committee (APCC) held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, BVR Subramanyam, industrial projects with an investment of Rs.459 crores were cleared.

The projects cleared include setting up of a mini Food Park by M/s Nav Bharat Group at Bari Brahmana with a projected investment of Rs.78.27 crore and substantial expansion programme of M/s Kandhari Beverages approved with a cost of Rs.78 crore.

In Kashmir Region, the projects cleared included the setting up of a unit of Manufacture of Kraft Paper by M/s Rose Infrareal Construction International Limited with a project cost of Rs.123 crores, C.A Store by M/s Red Apple (I) Cold Chain (Rs.38.24 Cr) and a Medical Diagnostic Facility by M/s Medicare Diagnostic Imaging Centre (Rs.42.0 crores). The total land involvement in these cases is 91 kanals with an employment potential of about 745 people.

The committee also approved extension in revalidation of Provisional Registration of units who had taken effective steps toward implementation of their unit but could not come into commercial production. While deliberating upon various proposals, the APCC directed Industries Department to facilitate entrepreneurs in every possible manner but also ensure that the projects are delivered in an effective and time-bound manner so that the objectives of industrialization are achieved.

Chief Secretary advised that the promoter shall apply for the requisite permissions/ clearances from all the concerned departments which shall be granted in a time-bound manner; then only the case be placed before APCC for its approval.

The Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department suggested for stricter appraisal of project reports before considering land allotment to ensure proper land utilization and for revision of lease deed which have become redundant.

Chief Secretary suggested for hiring the services of some professional legal consultant for redrafting the lease deed documents.

The Committee comprises Principal Secretary, PM&D Department, Principal Secretary Industries & Commerce Department, Commissioner/ Secretary Forests, Commissioner/ Secretary P.D.D, Chairman SPCB, Managing Director, J&K SIDCO, Directors, Industries and Commerce, Jammu & Kashmir and Presidents of Chamber of Commerce of Commerce & Industry, Jammu & Kashmir.
