SRINAGAR: Chief Secretary today reviewed relief and rehabilitation measures in the border area of Rajouri following recent cross-border shelling incidents.
He assessed the condition of bunkers in affected villages and directed officers to construct new ones where needed. He stressed the need to maintain proper standards to ensure civilian safety. He also took stock of the healthcare arrangements at Government Medical College Rajouri, where he met the injured and directed staff to provide uninterrupted treatment.
The Chief Secretary interacted with affected families and assured them of support from the administration. He reviewed the challenges faced by local officials and promised necessary assistance.
Earlier, he was briefed on civil defence preparedness and the status of essential services in the district. He appreciated the response of the district administration to the shelling incidents.
The visit was to Kalsian panchayat in Tehsil Nowshera. The Chief Secretary was Atal Dullo. The Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, and other senior officers, including DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, SSP Rajouri, ADCs, and sectoral heads, were present.
