Chief secretary Jammu and Kashmir BVR Subrahmanyam on Wednesday refuted the reports of deferment of panchayat and municipal polls in the state.
Talking to reporters at SKICC Srinagar Chief Secretary said that the polls will be held as per schedule.
“There will be no change in the date of municipal and panchayat polls.,” he said.
Earlier, a media outlet quoting sources, said that the polls are likely to be deferred in view of boycott announced by two main regional political parties Peoples democratic party and National Conference.
