City police Wednesday claimed to have solved a major burglary case in Srinagar.

In a hurriedly called presser in Khanyar Police station, the station house officer Khanyar claimed to have recovered stolen goods worth Rs 9 Lac from the burglars. The goods include electronic gadgets, copper utensils, hosiery and readymade garments.

SHO Khanyar, Mir Ajaz, on the occasion said, “A case under FIR no 12 was registered in Khanyar police station in 2015 and a team was constituted to look into the burglary case. During the course of action we identified a gang who was responsible for various burglary cases in parts of the city and we have arrested four persons in this regard.”

The burglary cases of Nowgam, Lal bazaar and Khanyar areas have been solved, by nabbing the gang.

Taking to Kashmir Life, SHO said the major kingpin of the gang is non-Kashmiri and we have identified him but he is still at large.

The SHO didn’t divulge the details of the gang.
