A civilian was injured on Saturday evening after 55 RR unit of army resorted to firing during cordon and search operation in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

A civilian identified as Bashir Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir, a resident of Litter Pulwama has received a bullet in the leg when Army’s 55 RR fired after suspecting “presence of militants” in the area.

The injured civilian was soon for the treatment and is being treated at the district hospital. However, a cordon and search operation is in the area is going on. Reports also suggest that an exchange of fire between the forces and militants was reported from the area.
