Srinagar
A 62-year-old man who was injured critically in a grenade blast at Zainakadal area of Srinagar city on Friday evening succumbed to injuries.
An official said that unknown persons lobbed a grenade outside Maharaj Gunj Police Station in downtown area of Srinagar.
He said that in the attack, two civilians suffered splinter injuries and were immediately shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment.
“Among the injured, one person Ghulam Nabi Ahanger (62), a resident of Astan Mohalla Zainakadal succumbed to injuries,” he said. He identified the injured as Rafiq Ahmad.
Soon after the attack, government forces launched a hunt to trace out the assailants.
