Minister for Revenue, Hajj and Auqaf and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri on Friday informed the House that one civilian has been killed while three army personnel injured in Pakistani firing in Mankote Sector in district Poonch during past 24 Hours.

The spokesman said responding to the concern raised by Mian Altaf Ahmad and other Legislators over the loss of lives and property in recurrent incidents of cross-border shelling, the Minister informed that on Thursday at about 1620 hours.

He said during the cross firing, one lady namely Zainab Bee (45), a woman of Mohammad Nazir Gujjar, a resident of Nar Balnai was killed while three Army personnel identified as Havaldar Lakhvinder Singh, Havaldar Balvir Singh and Lance Naik Charandeep Singh got injured.

He said the firing was also reported from Gulpur and Balakote sectors on Thursday, however, no loss of life/property was reported in said incidents.

The Minister said that District Administration Poonch is taking all possible measures to avoid loss of life and property; alternate arrangements are also in place for boarding and lodging of the affected population.
