A civilian boy who was killed during an army firing in Pulwama on Friday was laid to rest at 10:00 am today in his native village in Nowpora Payeen, in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Reports said that hundreds of people took part in the prayers held at their native place in Nowpora Payeen in Pulwama.

The deceased youth identified as Vikas Ahmad Rather, son of  Ghulam Qadir Rather and was hit by a bullet in chest right side on Friday.

Earlier, an official said that a patrolling party of 55 RR was pelted by youth at Nowpora Payeen in Pulwama district. Army retaliated by firing few rounds which resulted in the death of a one person and another sustained injuries.

The injured girl was identified as Ruqaya Jan, daughter of Mohidin. Ruqaya was hit by a bullet in her left leg.
