A civilian and two army personnel were injured on wee hours of Thursday during an encounter in Dalipora area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir.

Reports said that a civilian identified as Younis Jalal, son of Jalal-u-din Dar, a resident of Dalipora and two army men were injured during the encounter. The civilian has received a bullet injury at his thigh who was later evacuated to district hospital Pulwama for the treatment and is said to be stable now.

The encounter began after a joint team of army and SOG launched cordon and search operation in Dalipora area near police station Pulwama following specific information about the presence of some militants in the area.

As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the militants opened fire triggering an encounter.
