Massive clashes erupted in Tarigami village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district after government forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation in the area.
Reports said that Forces after a tip-off about the presence of militants cordoned off a part of Tarigami village.
Witnesses said that as the search operation commenced, the large number of youth hit streets and resorted to massive stone-pelting. Witnesses added that youth disrupted the operation while Forces retaliated with tear-smoke shells and even fired dozens of the round in the air.
A police official said that they had information about the presence of militant but no contact with them was established.
Reports said that a couple of protesters were injured in violent clashes. Locals alleged that Forces ransacked the houses and damaged vehicles in the village. (CNS)
