Clashes erupted in Palhallan Village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla District after Eid Prayer’s, witnesses said.

They said that police used teargas shells to disperse the mob which had assembled after the culmination of Eid prayers.

According to reports hundreds of people soon after Eid prayer were trying to March towards  Highway to stage a protest but the already deployed forces did not allow them to move towards the highway.

Soon some youth started to pelt stones which was retaliated by the troops by lobbing some tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters.

The clashes continued for almost an hour.

Meanwhile, clashes were also reported in Srinagar after Eid prayers. Reports said that clashes erupted in Nowhatta area of the city after Eid prayers.

In Shopian and Islamabad people also staged protests and pelted stones on the forces deployed to prevent any protests.

Witnesses said that dozens youth sustained injuries in Janglatmandi area of Islamabad district during the clashes.

One among the injured Sheraz Ahmad Naikoo (18) of Brakpora succumbed to injuries at Janglat Mandi hospital where he was taken along with other injured.

In Kupwara clashes were also reported between the youth and government forces after the Eid prayers.
