Several persons were injured during intense clashes with the government forces in Kulgam district on Friday following the killing of militants in Arwani gunfight on Thursday.
Reports said that scores of the youth from Khudwani, Redwani, and its adjoining areas took to streets and clashed with the forces. Forces resorted to tear gas and pellets to chase away the protestors and resulting in injuries to several protesters.
Sources said that the injured youth were shifted to different hospitals for treatment.
Four militants of Hizb ul-Mujahideen – Sahir Makroo of Arwani, Owais Ahmad Lone from Hawora-Mishpora area of Kulgam, Muzamil Magray of Watoo Aharbal and Amir Tantray of Damhal Hanjipora Kulgam – were killed in a gunfight with the forces in Khar mohalla of Arwani last night.
