Srinagar: Clashes broke out on Saturday evening between the youth and government forces in Koil village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district against the killing of local militant Mussavir Ahmed Wani, a resident of Delipora Pulwama.

Reports said that the youth of the area assembled at Koil and pelted government forces with stones.

An eyewitness said that police retaliated by firing tear gas smoke shells, however, there were no reports of any loss or damage.

Until the last reports came, heavy stone pelting and tear smoke shelling were going on in the area.

Wani was killed on Friday evening during an encounter between the government forces and militants in Kangan area of Pulwama. Wani’s funeral procession held at Industrial Estate, Delipora in Pulwama and was attended by thousands of mourners.
