Clashes erupted between protesters and government forces near the site of a gunfight in Arwani area of Bijbhera town in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district on Thursday.
Reports said that youth took to streets in Arwani and its adjoining villages shouting pro-freedom slogans pelted rocks at the government forces.
The government forces lobbed tear gas canisters to disperse the stone pelting protesters.
Meanwhile, gunfight continues in Arwani area between militants and forces.
