Clashes after forces cordon Tarigam village in Kulgam


Clashes erupted after forces cordoned off Tarigam village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district after they received inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

As soon as joint team of 1st RR and SOG of J&K police cordoned off the village and launched search operation, people started coming out of their houses and started pelting stones.

Forces retaliated resulting in the clashes.

“We were working on the information that militants were hiding in the village,” said a police official, as forces zeroed in people huddled stones.

Forces have called off the operation in the village.

“We are about to leave and there is nothing,” said police official, while talking to Kashmir Life.
