Soon after the attack in Pulwama by suspected militants Monday afternoon resulting in the death of two policemen, clashes between protesters and police hit the town.

As per an eyewitness, “After the attack, forces cordoned off the area and started beating the people around, which resulted in stone pelting and clashes between people and the forces.”

Due to clashes in town, traffic has gone off from the roads and shopkeepers have pulled their shutters.

Pertinently two policemen were killed and one received injuries during an attack on the police vehicle which was on way to the district court to serve lunch to the on duty cops.

Police sources said that unknown militants opened fire upon the police vehicle outside the district court complex resulting in injuries to three policemen, two later succumbed and one injured is undergoing treatment in the nearby hospital.

Army, special operation group of police and paramilitary, Central Reserve Police Force have cordoned off the area and have launched a search operation.
