Srinagar

Clashes erupted between protesters and forces in southern Kashmir’s Islamabad town on Friday, reports said.

Reports said that hundreds of protesters started raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans after the culmination of congregational prayers who were chased away by forces.

However, the protesters re-assembled and pelted stones on police who fired tear smoke shells to disperse them.

The clashes later spread to Lal Chowk, Rishi Bazar and Janglat Mandi areas, reports said.
