Clashes broke out in old city areas of Srinagar after congregational Friday prayers. Two persons have reportedly sustained injuries in forces action during the clashes.

The youth assembled in Nowhatta chowk outside Jamia Masjid Srinagar and raised pro-freedom slogans besides waving flags, reports said. The clashes triggered shutdown in the area.
Reports said that police used force to disperse the protestiong civilians. “People pelted stones on the forces personnel resulting in clashes in the area.. Two youth were hit by pellets in forces action,” reports said.
Police officials at Nowhatta Police Station declined to comment on the issue of clashes and pellet injuries.
