Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in Sumbal against the killings.

Cellular network including mobile internet has also been suspended in Sumbal. Only State-run BSNL phones are working.

Police on Monday claimed to have foiled an early morning Fidayeen attack on CRPF’s 45 Battalion camp in Sumbal area by killing four militants.

“The fidayeen militants kept firing as they tried to enter the camp. The attack was effectively repulsed by the CRPF sentry and Sumbal Police,” CRPF Deputy Inspector General M. Dinakaran said.
