Panic gripped in Aungmatipora area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad district when locals recovered the dead body of a 4th standard student. Police sources told CNS that the 10 years old student had apparently died due to a head injury. “It seems someone has hit his head with a heavy stone,” police said.
Station House Officer Mattan Islamabad identified the deceased student as Abdul Rouf Naik son of Muhammad Shafi a resident of Nagam Kokarnag.
“Rouf along with his family had arrived at Aungmatipora to inquire about the health of his aunt on Wednesday. He had gone to a nearby playfield along with the children of the locality. Family members along with locals searched for him after he did not return to home and unfortunately found he dead body at a Nursery,” the police officer said adding that an FIR vide number 104/2014 under section 302 has been registered and investigation has been taken up to crack the case.
