Fearing protests, the authorities on Sunday decided to suspended class work in few colleges and higher secondary schools of some Kashmir districts tomorrow.

An official said that the decision to suspend class work in these institutions has been taken as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident.

In Srinagar, the class work will remain suspended at Amar Singh college and M A Road Women’s Degree College.

“The class work will remain suspended only in these two institutions while as the rest of the educational institutions will remain open in the district,” news reports quotes an official saying.

while, in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, government Degree College Sopore and Boys higher secondary school Sopore will remain closed for students while as teachers have to report to their institutions.

Similarly, district administration Kupwara has decided to suspend class work at Government Degree College Kupwara, Handwara and Higher secondary school Handwara, Langate and Kralgund.

The authorities in Shopian district have decided to close Degree College Shopian and one higher secondary school of the town while as rest of the institutions will remain functional on Monday.

The district administration Ganderbal has decided to suspend classwork in all higher secondary schools and degree colleges of the district on Monday.
