SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced the suspension of classwork in all government and private schools across the Kashmir Division for Monday, April 21, 2025. The decision has been taken given the prevailing inclement weather conditions and as a precautionary measure.
According to an official order issued by the Office of the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, the suspension applies only to student attendance. All teaching and non-teaching staff have been directed to report for duty as usual.
The administration has urged adherence to the instructions to ensure safety while maintaining necessary operational functions in schools.
Education Minister Sakeena Itoo in a post on X said, “In light of the continuing severe weather conditions and forecasts, it has been decided that classwork in all schools of the valley shall remain suspended for one day tomorrow (21st April). This decision has been taken as a precautionary step to ensure the safety and well-being of all students,” Minister for Education, Social Welfare and Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, said in a post on X.
