Officials said the cloudburst triggered a sudden rise in the water level of a local nallah, damaging public infrastructure and leaving several people stranded on either side of the affected road.

The damaged cowshed trapped two cows and household belongings, while the link road connecting Dawar with the Mousum area suffered extensive damage, disrupting local connectivity.

Soon after the incident, personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir Police rushed to the spot to assess the situation. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) also launched restoration work to clear debris and restore road connectivity.

A local resident, Ajaz Ahmad Dar, said the cloudburst caused significant damage to the cowshed and the road leading to Mousum, leaving residents stranded due to the flash floods.

No loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident.

Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, while restoration work is underway. Residents have been advised to remain vigilant and avoid venturing near overflowing streams and other vulnerable areas until weather conditions improve. (KNT)
