Cluster University Students stage protest against fee hike

Scores of M.Ed Students of Cluster University Srinagar on Saturday staged a protest at Press Colony here against the hike in their exam fee.

The protesting students assembled in press enclave and shouted slogans against the cluster University for the increase in the examination fee for the M.Ed program.

“It is total injustice with us. If  University authorities are so desperate to generate revenue they should find some other alternative,” said a protesting student.

The students said how their parents can afford to pay the hiked amount from their limited income.

“My father is a farmer. He somehow manages the affairs of his family amidst financial constraints. How can he manage to pay the huge fee,” said a girl student.

The students said, on one hand, the government talks education at doorsteps, scholarships for poor and on the other are issuing unrealistic orders which directly have an impact on the students.

“Where from the poor students get such a huge amount,” the students questioned.
