Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday expressed grief and shock over the death of a cameraman of Information Department, Suram Singh, in a road accident while performing his duties at Jammu.

The spokesman said Chief Minister has conveyed her sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. She has also sympathized with those injured in the road accident.

Meanwhile, Mehbooba Mufti has also sympathized with the photojournalists injured at Srinagar today while performing their duties.

Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Billawar, Dr Nirmal Singh also expressed grief and shock over death of Information Department Cameraman, Suram Singh.

The spokesman said Singh has conveyed his sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

Meanwhile, Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) has expressed deep anguish and shock over the tragic death of Suram Singh, who was working as a Cameraman in the Department.

Suram Singh died in a road accident near Gangyal here while he was on official duty with the Deputy Chief Minister, Mr Kavinder Gupta. Suram Singh is survived by two children and wife.

Another employee of DIPR Gaurav Gupta who was also travelling in the same vehicle had a narrow escape.

The employees of DIPR have expressed anguish over the demise of their colleague, who was known for his nobleness, decent manners and dedication to his duties.

Separate condolence meetings were held at the Directorate of Information and the offices of the Joint Director Information Jammu, Kashmir to condole the demise of Suram Singh.
