Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti, hosted Iftaar at SKICC lawns, here Monday evening.
Around 2000 guests from across the state attended the Iftaar, an official spokesperson said late this evening.
A host of dignitaries including Governor, N N Vohra, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh, Chairman Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali, Deputy Speaker, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, Council of Ministers, Members of Parliament, Legislators, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, Administrative Secretaries, Vice-Chancellors, top army and police officers, officers of civil administration, besides members of the media fraternity and prominent citizens and civil society representatives participated in the Iftaar.
On the initiative of the Chief Minister, women officers were specially invited for the Iftaar.
Special arrangements were made for the invitees to offer Maghrib prayers on the SKICC lawns.
The participants prayed for peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.
