Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday inaugurated the Jammu and Kashmir bank’s Zonal Office Complex at Amargrah in Sopore.

The CM also inaugurated the Business Unit in the same building. The chairman of the bank Pervez Ahmad was also present on the occasion. He said, “I hope commissioning of this office besides a business unit would lead to marked improvement in our services and access in the zone.”

Notably, the zone comprises of Baramulla,Bandipora and Kupwara districts of Kashmir.

Besides, Chairman Executive President provided a brief overview of the bank’s recent progress in business and infra-structure.

“Our expansion within the state aims at taking all the unbanked areas into the financial fold besides leveraging the under-banked areas through better and more accessible banking services,” he added.

The representatives of trade bodies had a healthy interaction with the management after the inaugural ceremony, wherein they extended gratitude for creation of the zone and the subsequent inauguration of the business unit.
