Chief Minister’s body shall be flown to Jammu and Kashmir Thursday afternoon.

CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed breathed his last at AIIMS in New Delhi early today at 7:30.

Sources said that all his relatives were at AIIMS when Mufti breathed his last. Some ministers too are camping in Union capital.

Sources added that Mufti shall be buried in his ancestral graveyard in South Kashmir’s Bijbehara area.

His body shall be flown to Srinagar, sources said, this afternoon.

State is observing three days mourning from today.

He is survived by wife, three daughters, including MP and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, and a son.

Sayeed was sworn in as state chief minister on March 1 last year for second. He was CM of J&K from 2003 to 2005.

Mehbooba Mufti is likely to become the chief minister of the state now.
