SRINAGAR

Day after chief minister Mufti Sayeed’s hometown Bijbehara witnessed massive participation of people in the funeral procession of three local militants, the town Wednesday shuts to mourn the dead.

Reports coming from this part of South Kashmir said that all shops and business establishments are closed while transport is off the roads.

The shutdown was triggered by the killing of three local Hizb militants in a brief gunfight at Ashmuqam on Monday.

Being the CM Mufti’s hometown, the angry youth Tuesday hoisted a Pakistani flag on his ancestral house in Baba Mohalla. The flag was later removed by the forces.
