SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting to review the functioning of the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB), directing the Board to expedite recruitment and ensure a time-bound and transparent selection process.
The meeting was attended by Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary Dheeraj Gupta, Principal Secretary Finance, and other senior officials, including the Chairperson of JKSSB.
Chairperson Indu Kanwal Chib presented a detailed report on recruitment activities since 2019, outlining department-wise status of posts advertised, under process, and nearing completion. She also highlighted delays caused by departments not submitting requisitions on time and the need to revise recruitment rules in certain cases.
It was informed that future recruitment examinations will be conducted under CCTV surveillance to ensure fairness. The meeting also reviewed Class IV recruitments, where delays were flagged.
The Chief Minister instructed the Board to remove procedural hurdles, improve infrastructure, and strengthen legal and administrative mechanisms. Emphasising transparency, he said the government is committed to filling vacant posts efficiently to provide employment opportunities to qualified youth.
