CM Omar Abdullah Inspects Shalina Breach Site, Orders Strengthening of Embankments

   

SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday visited Shalina near Lasjan to inspect the flood breach site and review ongoing restoration works, directing officials to strengthen embankments and expedite permanent repairs.

The Chief Minister assessed the damage caused during the September floods last year and took stock of the progress of repair and flood mitigation measures at the site.

He instructed the concerned departments to reinforce embankments to prevent any recurrence of such breaches and emphasised the need for durable, long-term solutions. He also directed officials to ensure early completion of permanent restoration works.

Omar Abdullah stressed the importance of adopting robust flood management strategies to safeguard vulnerable areas and protect public infrastructure.

He was accompanied by his Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Pampore Justice (Retd.) Hasnain Masoodi, and other concerned officers.
