CM Omar Abdullah Pays Floral Tributes to Police Martyrs

   

SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday led a ceremony at the Police Martyrs Memorial in Zewan to honour the police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty on Police Commemoration Day.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the event as Chief Guest and addressed the gathering, acknowledging the bravery and dedication of Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel who, he said, had “set an enduring example of courage and sacrifice.”

The Chief Minister, accompanied by Council of Ministers Sakina Itoo and Javid Ahmad Dar, and Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, laid floral wreaths at the memorial, paying homage to the fallen officers.

Several Members of the Legislative Assembly joined in the tribute, along with senior government officials and police officers including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Additional DGP (Armed) Anand Jain, and Principal Secretary, Home Department.

Following the wreath-laying ceremony, Omar Abdullah visited a blood donation camp organised as part of the commemoration. He interacted with volunteers and lauded their humanitarian efforts, describing their participation as a reflection of the spirit of service upheld by the police force.

The annual Police Commemoration Day marks remembrance of personnel who have died in the line of duty.
