CM Omar Chairs Emergency Meet with DCs Amid Border Tensions

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is chairing an emergency meeting with deputy commissioners of several districts following the flare-up along the Line of Control and the International Border after India carried out air strikes inside Pakistan in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, sources said.

Quoting sources,  KNO reported that the meeting, chaired by CM Omar, is underway to assess the situation in the border areas.

The meeting is being held via video conferencing with deputy commissioners of Kathua, Jammu, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch, Baramulla, Kupwara, and Bandipore, they said.

Earlier, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated that he had taken stock of the situation in the border districts and was closely monitoring developments. He said the government is fully prepared to deal with any eventuality.
